Look for the first Clock-Hand on the bottom right corner of the text box on the touch screen. In other words, you must have less than 100 QR Points from scans so that Island Scan cannot be performed which will allow you to read the QR clock-hands. You can skip to the TL DR below with the final guide if you don't want to read though the whole guide. It will advance 1 frame per read (2 frames per 2 reads, as you always get 2 clock-hands). What I mean is, if you make any mistake reading the Clock-Hands for the Initial Seed you have to reset the game and try again - but if you make any mistake reading the QR Clock-Hands all you have to do is clear the hands you input before and keep trying.

The good news is you can practice reading clocks in the QR Scanner which is more forgiving than the initial seed. If you're not used to Clock-Hand reading this is going to be quite time consuming by recording. Currenty I don't know if an End Position would be possible.Īnyway, this is a slightly more complex method than the usual Retail RNG as it involves reading clock-hands two times per attempt. Reading the Start Position is totally possible although harder than the End Position, but if you know where to look in the screen it is possible. The 3dsrngtool only allows entering the Start Position. The hardest part in this guide is actually reading the QR Scanner clock-hands. The guide I'm posting basically utilizes the same concept in the Xurkitree Guide for any other RNG. The only mention to QR Scanner clock-hand reading I've seen was the Xurkitree RNG (Eon Timer version) post. Using the QR Scanner clock-hands is a more precise way to get to your target frame. So I tried to use the QR Scanner clock-hands instead to see if that would work better somehow. It is frustrating to spend a lot of time on your RNGs and no results to show for it. Many of you have also experienced this, you setup everything correctly, do your RNG attempt but somehow you still manage to hit frames unexplicably far from your target. Lately I've been trying to do some RNGs and I've had enough of inconsistent frames.
